Education Adviser for the Virtual School

The role of the Education Adviser for the Virtual School is to support the outcomes for our children in care, ensuring aspirational targets are set, Pupil Premium Plus is requested appropriately and the educational and emotional needs of this vulnerable group are met. They will offer challenge, consultancy and support to education settings, social care and other partner agencies, tracking termly attainment data. The adviser will be part of a team working four days a week from home but based in Wyvern the fifth day. There is an expectation to attend meetings in and out of borough as appropriate.

The successful candidate must have teacher status and experience of working with vulnerable young people, especially those with attachment and trauma needs. They must be able to work as part of a team, willing to share ideas and to build positive working relationships with partner agencies, especially social care. They will have good communication skills both written and verbal and be able to offer support and challenge within meetings.

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
