Cisco Looking for Software Engineer (Python) (Backend) at Ann Arbor, MI Full Time

This is a hybrid role working on-site in Ann Arbor, MI.

What You’ll Do

As a Software Developer in Duo’s Platform Services team, you will develop the main authentication platform. This platform is responsible for approximately 2 billion authentications per month and has a target SLA of 99.999%. Our primary responsibility is to innovate new ways to scale and increase the availability of our core platform.

Who You’ll Work With

Together with the team, you will help provide a solid foundation upon which features can be built and make it easy for other engineers to do the right thing in the design, development, and deployment of our products. These foundational features include work in specifying RESTful API standards/tools, event-based service communications, and other service design-related technologies. We write and maintain code in multiple languages, mainly Python. Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 + years of professional software development experience
• 1 + years of application development work experience using Python, or similar modern language
• 1 + years of work experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
• 1 + years of experience with automated software testing practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with asynchronous programming patterns
• Software development experience developing highly scalable web applications
• Experience or eagerness to learn infrastructure and site reliability engineering practices
• Good understanding of OOP and design patterns that avoid redundancy and promote efficiency, legibility, testability, and maintainability of code
• A passion for usability and user experience, whether the user is internal or external
• Experience in collaboratively solving problems in the SaaS space
• A Proven understanding of security best practices in web development
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Proven experience with any of the following: WebAuthn, OIDC, SAML, AWS, React.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Git
