CITY OF BILLINGS Hiring for LIBRARY SERVICES SPECIALIST II at BILLINGS, Montana Full Time

The Library Services Specialist II provides mid-level administrative support to the employees and patrons of the Billings Public Library. Duties include but are not limited to: circulation desk assistance to patrons, children’s department activities and programs, reference information support, and shelving functions. The successful candidate must be proficient with computer applications for word processing and spreadsheets. Other skills typically required include: use of a programmable telephone system, audiovisual equipment, and the Internet. The Library Services Specialist II is required to shelve materials using an alphabetical and numerical scheme and should be able to push carts of books weighing up to 200 pounds.The successful applicant must be prepared to offer exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages in a very busy environment, and must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.Schedule: Monday through Friday, and may include one evening per week and one Friday per month, depending upon library business hours.Salary: $14.57 per hour plus benefits.Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Two years or more of combined education and experience, or equivalent.Preferred Skills:- Experience with city government and knowledge of Library functions and operations.Equal Opportunity Employer.
