We are seeking to recruit two part-time Evening and Weekend Supervisors for our main Northampton Square Library and Bayes Business Library. Hours of work will be weekdays 5pm-9pm and weekends 12-6pm. The successful candidates will work on 2 weekday evenings per week, and alternate weekends.
The Evening and Weekend Supervisor ensures the smooth delivery of core library services through answering reference and procedural enquiries, delivering circulation functions, and assisting with library equipment. They will also support the online library enquiry service. This role involves the supervision of a small team of staff delivering these services, as well as shelving and maintaining a good study environment for all our users.
You will have relevant experience, preferably in an academic library setting, and excellent customer service skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to supervise a team and foster a collaborative approach to work are also required. You will be expected to give clear guidance and instructions to colleagues and liaise with colleagues in the library and other University teams.
