COLAS Australia, a leader in the Road Construction and Maintenance Industry, was formed in 2008 with the acquisition of SAMI Bitumen Technologies. COLAS Australia has continued to expand its operations throughout Australia with the acquisition of a number of local companies and is now supported by over 500 employees across 15 work sites in 5 states.
The Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Software Engineer to join our team based in Winston Hills. Reporting to the Group IT & Communications Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the software systems of Colas Australia.
Key responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills & experience:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science related fields
– Industry Certifications in Microsoft Server & Cisco
– Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with multiple site locations
– Experience with domain migrations
– Strong knowledge of PCs, operating systems, networks, and standard business applications (e.g., MS Office)
– Knowledge of a wide breadth of information technology including infrastructure, applications, and communications systems
– Demonstrated ability to explain IT issues in business terms and interpret requests from non- IT staff
– Good customer engagement temperament
– Desire and skills for innovation and improvement
– Reliable, flexible and able to work autonomously
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– VMARE, CISCO, Microsoft, Linux, SQL
– Ability to travel when required
