The Department of Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide clerical and office support to ensure operations are conducted efficiently and effectively in the county organization; specifically, the garage area.

As a Clerical Assistant, you will perform general clerical duties, including typing various clerical documents such as letters, vouchers, memos, meeting minutes, and agendas; proofreads and uses own judgment to properly correct grammar and format to department rules and standards. Answer the office telephone to include operating telephone directories, multiple line switching to receive multiple incoming calls, transferring callers to correct individual, and receiving transmittals and listening to public concerns. Act as receptionist/radio dispatcher during months when winter dispatchers are not available. Respond to and directing inquiries and issues to the appropriate individual. Initiate and maintain record on operator certification. Prepare paperwork for Risk and Insurance Management claims for outside customers.
