This position is responsible for administering the application and knowledge testing processes of the Pennsylvania’s commercial and non-commercial driver licensing program.

The hiring office for this posting has a continuing need for Spanish speaking applicants. Individuals fluent in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. Individuals hired for these positions provide information and assistance to Spanish-speaking customers.
The Driver License Examiner Assistant works in direct contact with customers to verify applicant identification, completion of application forms, and to enter information into online driver license application software. The employee administers standardized knowledge tests to evaluate the applicant’s understanding of the Vehicle Code, driving laws, and associated traffic control devices. A vision screening for visual acuity is given to all applicants using a telebinocular instrument.
An employee in this position data enters applicant test results and customer applications for driver license services into online software systems using a PC terminal and strictly adheres to all aspects of Driver and Vehicle Services’ Customer Service Policy. The employee is responsible for ensuring that the correct fee waiver code is used and properly documented whenever a fee waiver is necessary to process a customer transaction and complies with all aspects of the Fee Waiver Guidelines.
