The Department of Labor and Industry is seeking a hard working individual who is looking to begin a career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This candidate will serve as the lead worker for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of mail production machines. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position will distribute work assignments, provide operator support in resolving machine issues when needed, recommend new or revise existing job procedures, and ensure that mail processing is completed in the most efficient and expeditious manner. This position must also perform vendor approved general maintenance and repairs to Bowe / Bell & Howell mail inserting machines (Enduro, Ascender) and associated peripherals (Pitney Bowes R750/Infinity and postal security devices). Assistance will be provided to vendor service technicians in repair and preventative maintenance inspections, thereby acquiring first hand training and knowledge.
This position needs to be aware of material shortages, machine part requirements and job completion difficulties and provide recommendations on supply needs and operational precedence to their chain of command.
Work Hours and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work Hours: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm; Monday – Friday; 30 minute lunch
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements – One year as a Mail Production Operator; OR one year of experience in the operation of print or mail insertion equipment or similar machinery used in a print or mail production facility; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
