We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join an established consultancy in their Napier office. The organisation has a strong history of success and has played a key role in some of New Zealand’s largest land development projects in the residential, commercial and public sectors.

About The Role

As an Intermediate Civil Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering a diverse range of land development projects across the Hawkes Bay region. You’ll be involved in all aspects of land development projects from start to finish and work proactively to manage timeframes and budgets while keeping stakeholders informed of progress along the way.

Project Work Typically Encompasses

• Earthworks design and management
• Land development engineering
• Roading, footpaths and accessways
• Water, stormwater and wastewater design

About You

Your strong organisation, time management and interpersonal communication skills make you a valuable team player. With extensive industry experience under your belt, you’re a good decision maker and understand what it takes to deliver timely results while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. You’re a confident speaker and you know how to build relationships within your team and external stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

• A Civil Engineer with at least three years of New Zealand design experience.
• Relevant Tertiary qualification (BE/NZDE/BEngTech).
• Knowledge and understanding of the latest design software and construction contracts, especially NZS3910
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D capabilities.
• Confident in communicating with a range of people, from colleagues to clients.
• Confidence working onsite conducting inspections and managing contractors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A positive outlook and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
