We are situated across two iconic sites on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and our Secondary phase is now heavily oversubscribed. We are building partnerships with the new East Bank development, including the BBC, UCL, V&A East which is bringing incredible opportunities to the young people of East London.
Since the school was founded in 2017, we have set ambitious academic standards backed up by exciting enrichment opportunities, whilst nurturing and caring for the wellbeing of every child. At capacity, our two sites will accommodate over 1500 pupils, including a Sixth Form.
Built on the legacy of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games we enjoy world beating facilities including a competition standard 400m running track, full size football pitch and field events space, Astro-turf pitch, and state of the art classrooms and school buildings. About the role
To maintain robust chronologies outlining all communication, support and intervention for
individual pupils who do not attend well??
Administer a daily welfare check each morn ing with the families of all vulnerable pupils who are absent that morning and record the details of the conversations?
To conduct home visits where appropriate and always with another DRET colleague??
To chair meetings regarding pupil’s attendance, including SAP and GAP meetings???
To liaise with members of the pastoral and welfare teams, including HOY, Tutors, the SENCO and Student Services for a full understanding of each pupil’s circumstances
To work with individual pupils and their family in setting targets for improved attendance and reviewing success on a regular basis, always intervening to sustain improvement?
To lead on referrals to external agencies??
Who we are looking for
Educated to NVQ level 3 / 4 or equivalent.
Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
A professional qualification relevant to the post such as social worker, teaching, youth work or other relevant qualification.
A relevant degree
The ability to write to a good standard of literacy to include excellent record keeping skills
Attention to detail in recording events, discussions and the voice of the child
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, especially with students, parents, school staff, social workers and other professionals.
