About the Role

Payroll Administrator
Full-time
Hartland, NB

The Payroll and Timekeeping Administrator will be responsible for supporting various payroll functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as key point of contact for timekeeping Super User functional questions, and perform basic troubleshooting
• Support reporting and auditing on timekeeping data
• Work closely with our AMS provider and Compensation team to roll out new shift premiums and differentials
• Identify potential process/system improvements
• Host Super User Network meetings every 2 weeks to align on priorities, new opportunities to leverage the timekeeping system.
• Review and audit employee files and data changes, and work with HR on any discrepancies.
• Organize and prioritize adjustments for payroll processing.
• Become backup for payroll specialists and occasionally process hourly and salaried payrolls.
• Prepare pay vouchers and cheques for distribution.
• Update various employee and systems records as directed.
• Audit payroll records on a regular basis to ensure company compliance with Federal Labor Code rules and regulations.
• Other payroll related intiatives as assigned by manager

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business administration or related field
• A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
• Basic understanding of Payroll, Human Resources, Pension/Benefits, and Accounting
• A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced setting
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment; appropriate sense of urgency
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Familiarity to Federal Labour regulations
• Previous experience in the Transportation industry
• Working knowledge of HR systems
• Knowledge of Oracle HCM an asset
• English, other languages an asset
