JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary The Production Controller is responsible for developing and managing the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery, communicating schedule changes, nesting parts on the laser cutting machines and managing material usage to ensure accurate inventory. He/she supports a safe working environment and producing quality products in an efficient manner. The Production Controller works alongside Customer Service, Estimating and Purchasing to respond to our customers accurately and quickly. He/she passionately supports the coolness of manufacturing products and STEM education within GenMet and the broader community. Duties and responsibilities Lead, model and promote a culture of honesty, integrity, teamwork, responsibility, adaptability and continuous learning and improvement with the highest ethics Maintain a safe, healthy, organized, and clean work environment Support the production of quality products: Provide team members access to the information and tools needed to successfully fabricate and assure the quality of customer parts and assemblies. Perform final Quality inspections as necessary. Resolve corrective actions, non-conforming products, and deviations in a timely manner. Responsible to meet or exceed 95% on-time delivery to customers Provide production completion dates for new orders based on customer shipment request and manufacturing capability/capacity Review and analyze manufacturing jobs (i.e., routings and Bill of Materials) to schedule operations. Follow-up with production leads on work center status and support. Recommend estimated hour changes to improve future scheduling (and pricing). Analyze customer demand and trends to improve planning Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials are received in a timely manner to support the schedule Coordinate with Engineering to ensure new parts or revised parts are released to support the schedule. Proactively communicate schedule changes with Customer Service Continually strive to reduce lead time: support improved efficiencies, accurate routings, and bills of material. Responsible for nesting parts on all cutting machines Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory: ensure materials are issued for production orders within 24 hours and inventory adjustments do not exceed 5% in total Support continuous improvement (or Yellow Sheet) submittals and completion in a timely manner Support compliance with ISO9001, ITAR, OSHA, DNR and other applicable standards and Non-Disclosure Agreements Perform other duties as needed Qualifications 3 years of Manufacturing experience with planning, buying, routing, inventory and/or project management skills.
