The Ministry of Social Services, Community Living Service Delivery, is seeking s caring and empathetic individual who id passionate about supporting and assisting people with intellectual disabilities to live their lives to the fullest and participate as full citizens in communities.

As part of this rewarding opportunity, you will work with clients who receive services through the Clinical Crisis Services. You will implement programs that have been developed by Community Living Service Delivery professionals. Examples include: individual coaching, assisting clients to develop skills, gathering data, updating client profiles and data sheets, team meetings and performing personal care duties as required. As a team player, you will be respectful of the diversity of others and promote a healthy, productive and safe work environment that is free of discrimination. Please note this position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.

The requirements for this position would be obtained through completion of one year post-secondary education from a recognized institution with a certificate in an area such as Disability Support Worker, Educational Assistant, Therapeutic Recreation and/or any related human service field. Previous experience working with intellectually-disabled individuals and implementation of therapeutic programs would be considered a definite asset.

This position will require you to spend a minimum of 50% of your work time away from your home office. Overnight stays and a valid driver’s licence are required. This is a field worker position.
