A full time remote working position has arisen in Ireland for a Staff Video / Image Processing Engineer to help create the next generation of Video conferencing solutions which is really exciting.
Job Description for the Staff Video / Image Processing Engineer
HP is seeking a senior engineer to help develop next-generation image processing for videoconferencing products. As a key member of the video collaboration camera engineering team, you will work with a group of engineers overseeing all aspects of the imaging and video processing, including selection of optical components and SoCs, ISP tuning, algorithm development, post-processing, video encode and decode. The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn and have demonstrated proficiency collaborating in cross-functional development programs. This is an exciting opportunity to create new user experiences with best-in-class video hardware.
Responsibilities for the Staff Video / Image Processing Engineer
Work with ISP vendors, internal and external partners to develop advanced multi-camera image processing including dewarp, stitching, multi-ROI cropping and compositing.
Innovate in depth sensing, 3D imaging, segmentation and image AI/ML software development. Work with software and camera teams to drive new products and product features.
Assess various approaches, then enable/enhance new features (e.g., HDR, AF, ML/AI) in both prototype and new product introduction.
Work closely with our IQ test lab to review, analyze, and compile data necessary for evaluating impact of image processing. Provide reports and feedback to internal and external teams.
Knowledge & Skills required for the Staff Video / Image Processing Engineer
At least 3 years of experience implementing image processing techniques, such as image acquisition, segmentation, and camera calibration
Proficiency in C/C++ is a requirement
Proficiency in Python
Prior experience with cameras and image stitching are preferred.
Hands-on experience with OpenCV and other image processing libraries
Prior experience with stereo camera, 3D reconstruction and image stitching are preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels

Impact of decisions can often alter product timelines by multiple quarters
Impacts efficiencies and delivery times across multiple teams including camera engineering and video software, takes responsibility for the quality of deliveries
