Our driving force is our new strategy, which sets out our priorities over the next four years. Students are the reason Kent Union exists.

This is a great opportunity to take on an important role with the support of a talented and passionate team. With a focus on driving change and doing things differently, you will help develop and take ownership of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Strategy for 2022, making sure equality, diversity and inclusion is at the centre of everything we do. You will be supporting on policy development, coming up with new initiatives to take our EDI and advocacy work forward.
You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the University of Kent to increase Kent Union’s reputation, profile and influence across all relevant forums.
We are looking for someone with ideas and creativity, to be proactive in identifying and developing areas of opportunity in the diversity and inclusivity space.
We want someone with cultural competency to provide strategic leadership and direction for the overall development, delivery of our impact BME student voices project this project is to gain insight into the Black students’ experience at Kent. The research seeks to find out about Black students’ experiences and perceptions whilst studying at Kent, and to understand more about the barriers they face. The primary output would be recommendations for both the University of Kent and Kent Union which will improve the student experience. Recommendations would be fed into the EDI governance of the University to ensure that they are tracked and implemented.
