Compensation

The average starting wage for this role will be between $21.00 – $23.00 per hour ($60,000+ and $80,000+ per year average), commensurate with experience. Our weekly lodging allowance begins at $105 per work day and will be paid according to policy guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Extensive hand shoveling/digging around ground line of timber bridges using D-handle space/shovel, sharp shooter/shovel, crow bar and pry bar
• Apply wood preservative treatments and install plugs with hammer
• Drill holes using 1/2″ drill and generator

• Learn to use climbing equipment (lineman gear)
• Walk up and down steep slopes on rough ground

• Inspect timber bridge and make notes about condition

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current Driver’s License with a favorable driving record (CDL is preferred and commands a premium rate)
• Base knowledge in heavy physical labor (farming, military, ranching, utility work, construction, fence building, hand digging, outdoor labor, heavy landscaping, roofing, etc.)
• No fear of heights with previous exposure to heights
• Ability to successfully complete gas mask, lead exposure, respirator usage and Fall Protection training programs
• All new hires must be vaccinated or be willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by date of hire to be considered for a North American based job, where permitted by applicable law and subject to requests for accommodation (not applicable for Texas and Tennessee residents).

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• This position involves heavy lifting of up to 70 pounds; long hours of standing, walking, and climbing on remote jobsites; jobsites can be noisy. Ability to read and write are required as the position involves recording of data.

• This position involves routine exposure to outside weather conditions and work is performed at heights of up to 300′

• Occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals as well as sources of electricity

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
