La Plata Electric Association Inc. Hiring for Dispatcher at Durango, CO Full Time

This position provides 24-hour monitoring of LPEA s radio communications, outage management system, and SCADA system. It is responsible for dispatching crews to outage locations, routing service calls, maintaining system activity logs, and compiling reports.

Essential Functions

Operates a two-way radio and monitors all LPEA radio activity, communicating with crews and dispatching them as needed.

Tracks and coordinates all outages on LPEA s system.

Keeps a daily log of all system activities and compiles comprehensive daily reports.

Maintains mapping through field communications and the GIS department.

Writes switching orders and issues hot line orders and clearances.

Monitors security cameras and reports suspicious activity.

Communicates outage details to LPEA staff to assist with broader communications to the public.

Maintains communications and coordinating efforts with LPEA s power supplier(s).

Job Requirements

High School diploma.

Successful completion of an approved apprenticeship training program, and/or the ability to pass the final dispatcher exam.

Must have extensive knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems.

Must be able to maintains composure in high-stress situations and make quick decisions.

Must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
