Log House Farm Mushrooms Looking for Farmers Market Staff at Mission, BC Full Time

We are a small scale gourmet mushroom farm located in Mission. We are looking to hire one or two people for part time roles at our farmers markets, events and to assist in our production facility for the 2023 market season from May to November with the possibility of an extension into our winter schedule.

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible, punctual, capable of working with the owner as well as independently at our markets and events. You are dedicated to meeting our high standards of customer service with the ability to problem solve and communicate with the owner as needed. Foodsafe and a valid drivers license with access to a (preferably larger) vehicle is required for this position. Our farmers market schedule entails morning starts on Saturdays. All market equipment including tent is provided. Markets take place outdoors and you will be responsible for dressing accordingly for them rain or shine.

Responsibilities:

Transport, set up & tear down equipment at farmers markets/events;

Be punctual and follow the rules of each market site;

Provide exceptional customer service, describe our product, serve samples and have fun conversations with our customers;

Provide photos/videos for social media;

Record transactions in Square, our Point of Sales (POS) system, receive cash, provide change and balance cash float after each market/event;

Navigate inquiries or issues as needed, problem solve, obtain relevant information for the owner if required.

Required:

Valid drivers license and access to a preferably larger style vehicle, SUV/Van/Truck etc as you will be transporting gear and product to the market;

Valid Foodsafe certificate;

Cell phone with data to use our Point of Sales (POS) System

Ability to carry up to 50lbs;

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Pay: The hourly pay for this position is $20/hr plus a sales bonus and a gas allowance.
