Location: Bexleyheath
Salary: £33,435-£39,327
Contract: Full time permanent (Flexible working arrangements available and part-time hours between 28-36 hours considered)
Closing Date: 18th July 2022
The Role:
We are seeking three (3) enthusiastic and experienced professionals for the role of Senior Education Advisor to lead practice and support in one (1) of the following areas of specialism:
In addition to leading and developing practice in one area of specialism, each Senior Education Advisor will also provide outstanding educational advice, guidance and support for children and young people in the area of speciality, in addition to children in our care and young adults leaving care.
This is a unique role, with opportunity to collaborate and innovate, along with caseload responsibility for coordinating the statutory Personal Education Plan process for children in care within an agreed education phase range, or education support plans for those children who are previously looked after or have a social worker. The Senior Education Advisor will lead on promoting best practice that will support the educational achievement of the priority group, working closely with the wider professional network around the child, including parents, carers, schools, education and social care professionals.
The Education Advisor will be passionate about securing effective support for children and young people in their area of specialism, and for all looked after children and young people. The candidate will be required to support a number of strategic service priorities and to report on their caseload and additional projects through supervision and to senior leaders within agreed timescales.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the educational needs of children and young people, with expertise in their chosen area and skilled in identifying appropriate routes to assessment and support. This post is instrumental in helping the local authority deliver an excellent service for children with a social worker and for all children in our care and young adults leaving care. The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to confidently talk to children and young people about setting high aspirations, and to professionals, partners and stakeholders about the high expectations we set for ourselves and others in order to improve educational outcomes.
We welcome and value applications from education professionals from a range of backgrounds with appropriate training or qualifications to meet the requirements of the
‘Education Advisor’ role.
The post is available for an immediate start subject to checks; appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
