LSBU’s South Bank Innovation is looking to recruit two dynamic and enthusiastic Education and Employment Advisors who will work to support London residents to access

employment and professional growth by removing barriers through the delivery of a variety of work in collaboration with SBI Training colleagues and a wider partnership of education/training providers.

Your profile

You will have proven experience in supporting adults into education and employment. You must have experience of working with unemployed individuals and those in low paid jobs. An understanding and ability to signpost to relevant government or other funded support would be beneficial.

You will have excellent communication skills with experience of working alongside external and partner organisations. Knowledge and ability to use computers and related IT applications, including relevant Customer Relationship Systems (CRMSs) is essential.

In addition, you must be organised and be able to manage your own workload, have knowledge of the local labour market needs and the ability to determine suitable employment and training opportunities for individuals. You will be able to provide support through one to one advice and guidance and in work support to ensure retention.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Cost will be covered by LSBU.

Exciting work you will do

The post holders will report to Senior Project Managers and work alongside colleagues on identifying and supporting Londoners with barriers to employment or career progression. With access to a network of providers who can deliver accredited/non-accredited training, you will broker the support needed to facilitate individual progression.

This is a Fixed Term (until 31st September 2023), Full-Time role.

Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days worked on campus are arranged with the line manager.
