The School of Travel Food and Drink offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19 learners who are looking to pursue a career in Hospitality, Catering, Aviation and Travel and Tourism. Our course offers range from Entry 3, for learners who may be applying to college with no previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Extended programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry. The team have an extensive range of skills, knowledge and experience from their specialist industry backgrounds which is invaluable to the teaching, learning and assessment process.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
?We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Progress Coach to join our current team of professionals, who understands the key elements of PDBA and has a passion for supporting students through their learning journey. Core responsibilities include:
Building and maintain close working relationships with our existing team in order to ensure PDBA is consistently and rigorously placed at the forefront of our practice across the department.
Ensuring effective planning, preparation & development of schemes of learning and engaging teaching & learning resources, including the development of on-line learning for identified courses
Delivering effective sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods, for identified courses within the PDBA remit
Creating positive relationships with learners/parents/carers to support learners to achieve their full potential Plan and deliver creative, engaging and inspiring sessions to learners, role modelling good practice for curriculum staff.
Providing feedback to help learners improve & record learner’s progress for identified courses.
Working collaboratively with the team to support with the retention, achievement, success & attendance for identified courses.
Building positive relationships with learners & provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
You will contribute to the marketing of courses, learner IAG & enrollment processes.
Participating in student recruitment activities, including interviews and open evenings.
You will participate, as appropriate, in the College’s examination process.
Taking an active role in providing an effective induction process are for learners to support a smooth and positive transition to college life
YOUR PROFILE
The department is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and proactive individual who is keen to drive the key elements of PDBA and support our students to achive.
It is essential that you are knowledgeable in the key themes of the PDBA strands
You should have the ability to plan and deliver inspirational lessons within the PDBA structure and pastoral framework
Have a passion for supporting students with all aspects of TLA, safeguarding and general well-being.
You should have an appetite for supporting the departments goal to work collaboratively across the campus to meet key PDBA (and Luminate) targets
You should hold a Level 5 (or above) teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards, alongside a willingness to undertake further training to enhance the requirements of the role
Experience in working in Further Education to enhance the learner journey and recent teaching experience within the sector
An emphatic approach to identifying and meeting student needs is essential alongside an ability to problem solve to ensure the learner journey is not compromised wherever possible
You should have a willingness and ability to be flexible towards the requirements of different staff and learner needs
