Te āheinga: The Opportunity

As the Director Marketing & Brand, you will lead the strategic development and execution of marketing and brand initiatives across digital and traditional platforms. You will oversee national engagement, creative services, business insights, and research to ensure our brand resonates with learners, whānau, employers, and communities.

You will be a key member of our senior leadership team, aligning marketing strategies with business KPIs and ensuring a consistent, data-led, and customer-centric approach across all campaigns and communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead with Vision: Inspire and empower a talented marketing and brand team to deliver bold, innovative campaigns that connect with learners, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa.
• Craft Compelling Narratives: Shape and amplify the MIT | Unitec story through powerful brand strategies, creative storytelling, and integrated marketing that resonates across digital and traditional platforms.
• Ignite Engagement: Drive national engagement through cutting-edge digital experiences, social media, and targeted campaigns that spark curiosity and drive enrolments.
• Champion Data-Driven Decisions: Harness insights and analytics to fine-tune strategies, optimise performance, and ensure every marketing dollar delivers impact.
• Build Strategic Partnerships: Forge strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to co-create marketing solutions that meet regional needs. Collaborate with the International team to design culturally relevant international campaigns.
• Elevate the Brand: Oversee brand development, sponsorships, and creative production that reflect our values, celebrate diversity, and position MIT | Unitec as a leader in vocational education.
• Lead with Purpose: Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and learner success into every aspect of your work—ensuring our marketing reflects who we are and who we serve.
• Drive Innovation: Stay ahead of trends, challenge the status quo, and bring fresh thinking to how we connect with our audiences and communities.
