Job Title Senior Software Engineer Overview: Forge is the next-generation developer experience platform at Mastercard. Its goal is to automate and simplify the process of going from source code to deployment. The Forge Customer Enablement team owns several of the customer-facing assets that make up the platform; including a back-end API that interfaces with multiple downstream components and an interfacing CLI and portal. Responsibilities: * Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders * Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements * Automate build, operate, and run aspects of software * Drive code/design/process trade-off discussions within their team when required * Report status and manage risks within their primary application/service * Drive integration of services focusing on customer journey and experience * Perform demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners * Understands operational and engineering experience, actively works to improve experience and metrics in ownership area * Develop complete understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems * Drive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work of team members * Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members * Identify opportunities to improve an overall process and trim waste * Share and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity All About You (not all are required – we have multiple products with different needs) * You have experience integrating APIs * You have experience with an OOP language (Java, C#, Ruby) * You have familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservice architectures * You have experience with web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) * You are proficient with Git * You have experience delivering solutions on PCF, Azure, or AWS * You have familiarity with React and Node.js * You have the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment * You have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities * You have strong communication skills — both verbal and written – with strong relationship-building, collaboration, and organizational skills * You possess the ability to work as a member of a diverse and geographically-distributed project team * You have familiarity with different types of testing: unit, integration, performance and practices like Test Driven Development (TDD) In the US, Mastercard is an inclusive Equal Employment Opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
