BTEC Construction Tutor/Trainee (work based learning)

Morthyng Group Limited is a registered charity and voluntary sector training provider and a ‘not for profit’ organisation that has supported the training of young people and adults. They are looking for BTEC Construction Tutor/Trainee in Rotherham.

We are looking for an experienced trade individual with at least five years background in the construction industry with trade qualifications at Level 3 or above. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of delivering practical and technical sessions to young people working towards Construction Level 1 & 2 and BTEC qualifications. Training will be available for a suitable applicant.

Some of the responsibilities will include;

• Deliver construction qualifications and continually develop a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum including enrichment activity
• Develop the curriculum to meet learner need, encouraging active participation, ensuring that appropriate teaching, learning and assessment methods and resources are used within teaching sessions
• Supervise external work projects, work experience and European work activities
• Produce and develop lesson plans and schemes of work
• Undertake ad hoc duties as may be required by senior management commensurate with the grade of the position held

What you need:

• Ability to supervise learners with a track record of providing support and guidance on occupational matters
• Demonstration of skills in programmes including lesson planning, allocation of resources, teaching strategies and styles
• Skills and abilities to undertake the assessment of qualifications ensuring quality assurance
• Supervisions of learners, starts, progression, achievement, punctuality, attendance and retention
• Good presentation, organisational, planning and time management skills
• Strong command of subject matter with recent experience (last two years) in occupational area
• English & Mathematics Level 2 or above
• Occupational qualification at Level 3 or above in subject specialism
