About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our small, highly motivated, and dynamic accounting team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for all bookkeeping processes, including processing reimbursements, posting bank transactions, invoicing, and bi-monthly payroll. As part of our team, you will perform a wide variety of monthly and ad hoc tasks as assigned. To be successful in this role, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and be familiar with QuickBooks accounting software.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for all bookkeeping processes, including processing reimbursements, posting bank transactions, invoicing, and bi-monthly payroll, including expense reimbursements, as well as ensuring all appropriate approvals have been obtained and relevant supporting documentation is attached.
• Set up projects and prepare accurate and detailed customer invoices based on signed contracts and distribute them to Niricson’s clients.
• Regularly review accounts payable and receivable, and professionally communicate with Niricson’s clients, including all follow-up communications as needed.
• Posting various journal entries as needed in QuickBooks Online.
• You will have the opportunity to assist the accounting team in various ad hoc duties and be part of a team that is focused on continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications/Components

• Degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
• Solid data entry skills with an ability to recognize reasonable results.
• Proven work experience as an accounting assistant. 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred.
