Position: 2nd Grade TeacherReports To: School PrincipalPosition Overview:The 2nd Grade Teacher commits to upholding EAGLE Gravois Park’s mission, instructional vision, and Commitment to Excellence. The 2nd Grade Teacher will work collaboratively with a Teacher Assistant and with other teachers in his/her grade level. The 2nd Grade Teacher will report to, and receive coaching from, the School Principal.He/she will demonstrate high expectations for the achievement and conduct of all students and foster a safe, joyful, and nurturing learning environment in which students can thrive.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and co-teach an academic curriculum that adheres to Common Core standards, as well as to EAGLE College Prep’s college readiness standardsWork collaboratively with in the spirit of teamwork and communicationDifferentiate instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of studentsConsistently monitor levels of student engagement and understanding, exercising cognitive empathy to consider the learning experience from the student’s perspectiveAdminister and analyze informal and formal student assessments, using quantitative and qualitative data to drive and inform instructionMaintain collaborative and collegial working relationships with other teachers, staff members, parents, and community membersContribute to positive classroom environment and school culture; manage student behavior in a calm, consistent, proactive, and warm-strict mannerValue and draw upon the experiences and backgrounds of students to enhance students’ positive sense of selfKey Qualifications and Competencies:Possess zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humorBachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institutionPossession of teaching certification as an elementary school teacherSpecial Education credential and experience preferredELL experience preferredMinimum of two years teaching experience with demonstrated results, preferably at an elementary school level and in urban setting at a high achieving charter schoolConsistent focus on results and demonstrated student progressHigh academic and conduct expectations for all students and strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and ongoing developmentEntrepreneurial spirit and desire to contribute to building a school from the ground upSelf-aware and understands own strengths and weaknesses; commitment to continuous personal growth, professional development, and mentorship opportunitiesEducational Background and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or Masters from a accredited college or universityCertified Teacher in the state of Missouri.2-5 years’ experience in a similar role at a high achieving schoolIf you are selected for an in-person interview you will be required to produce teaching credentials (if required for this position) and proof of your highest degree obtained in order to participate in the interview.Anticipated Start Date:ImmediatelySalary and Benefits: EAGLE College Prep offers a competitive compensation and benefit package commensurate with experience.Equal Opportunity Employerminorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
