About this Position
Our NEPA Project Mangers work on a variety of projects, from simple
Categorical Exclusions(CatExs)to large and complexEnvironmental
Assessments(EAs), covering a multitude of service eseeking a NEPA
Project Managerto help manage and support the development of environmental
review documents; manage and support CatExs, EAs, and pre-NEPA
screenings; and support NEPA proposals. Pinyon has a strong backgroundand
reputation for conducting all aspects of NEPA projects in the transportation
space, particularly with FHWA oversight. We also have a growing portfolio of
projects with other agencies,such as the USACE, FAA, FTA, BLM,
USFS, HUD, and WAPA. Pinyon employs technical experts across numerous
disciplines, such as air quality & noise, biological
resources/wetlands, hazardous materials, cultural resources, water
resources/quality, and more. As a NEPA Project Manager, you will be
providing management of these multidisciplinary teams toadvance our clients’
project goals.At Pinyon, wepride ourselves on identifying project
roadblocks, and working in concert with regulators and the project team to
negotiate a path forward in ways that are environmentally conscious, as well
as cost-and time-effective for our clients.You’ll never get bored in this

position foster deep relationships with technical experts internally across
thePinyon Project Delivery team, as well as develop external relationships

this candidate would work from our Lakewood, Colorado headquarters, but remote
Essential Responsibilities
?Manage all aspects of C tegorical Exclusions and Environmental
Assessments, meeting requirements for various federal agencies.
?Project/task management and technical analysis on Environmental
Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements.
?Project/task management and technical analysis for planning studies,
Reevaluations, and other similar documents.
?Complete technical analysis for one or more of the NEPA technical resource
areas (e.g., biological resources, wetlands, cultural
resources)?Complete technical scopes for proposals.
?Client management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
?Bachelor’s degree in environmental discipline (e.g.,environmental
science, biology, environmental planning, environmental engineering).
?10+ years of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience.
?Knowledge of Section 106, Section 7, and Section 404 clearance and
permitting requirements.
?Experience working on Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental
Assessments, and Categorical Exclusionsfor projectsunder the jurisdiction of
the FHWA or FTA is a plus, but not a requirement.
?Experience working on projects for DoD, BLM, FEMA,USACE,and/or
FHWA CFL is a plus, but not a requirement.
?Experiencemanaging/leading Environmental Assessments for land agencies
such as BLM, USFS, DoD, USA CE, BOR, WAPA is highly desirable.
?Strong technical writing skills and effective communication skills are
required.?Candidate must have the ability to manage a NEPA project
(Categorical Exclusion and Environmental Assessment) from the proposal
phase to project completion.
?Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-disciplined team of resource
specialists (e.g., biologists, planners, historians) is required.
?Analytical data review, interpretation, and report preparation.
?Ability to work independently or in a group.

experience, including management, communication, and technical skills,
would allow them to independently and successfully manage all the
environmental tasks associated with NEPA documentation.
