We have worked in communities for more than 80 years and provide locally-driven programming through 240 offices around the world.Plan International USA is fully committed to safeguarding all children and young people from all forms of violence.The Director of Digital Marketing and Web Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing web and digital marketing strategies, to be deployed across all digital channels, including social media, paid search, display, web, and more, in order to meet Plan International USA’s targets for growing its supporters, brand awareness, and online revenue. This role will lead the expansion of digital services, digital content strategy, and e-commerce strategy to drive engagement across all available channels.This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Fundraising, and collaborates closely with the Senior Creative Director.This position can be located anywhere in the US.*
Essential Functions*

• Create digital marketing strategy including web, email, and social media strategies, and execute the plan, aligning key deliverables with organizational objectives, while managing to budget.

• Responsible for the overall health, performance, and governance of the website, including troubleshooting, improving usability, tracking, etc. Includes executing the new website strategy, managing website development agency, and continued optimization of the newly launched site.

• Oversee day-to-day digital activities and performance analysis.

• Manage digital team (3 members) and external digital marketing agency to ensure the digital strategy is executed and the team’s overarching goals are met.

• Develop metrics and measurements to determine website and marketing return on investment and cost of acquisition/retention for target segments. Establish benchmarks and set objectives to improve the impact of the implemented solutions. Use tools like Google Analytics, social listening platforms, and CRM, to track, monitor, and optimize digital presence, segmentation, and campaigns based on historical performance. Deliver regular reporting with actionable insights to showcase performance in digital.

• Develop and drive digital marketing and web best practices and standards within the organization; act as a service function to all fundraising and communication teams through consultation and implementing the best digital channel strategies and tactics for market segments.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of IT. Interface with UX designers, developers, content developers, and creative services, to ensure seamless implementation of digital services plan. Ensure marketing campaigns are linked to CRM.

• Research new and emerging technologies and platforms and implement tools that meet the needs of the organization and align with its long-term strategy. Create funding requests and identify project ownership and management needs to implement capabilities.

• Set goals working with team members to ensure team growth and professional development, review and evaluate work, and prepare performance reviews.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience creating digital customer journeys and using digital channels for retention plans
• Proficiency with a variety of software, including sales CRMs (Salesforce and Marketing Cloud preferred), Google Analytics, marketing automation platforms, content management systems, social listening/publishing (Sprinklr, Social Studio, Radian6, Hootsuite, etc), etc. Knowledge of non-profit digital fundraising, acquisition and retention strategies is desirable
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
• Digital consumer sales and lead generation marketing experience (non-profit experience is a plus)
• Solid understanding and experience in conversion rate optimization and developing and optimizing supporter/customer journeys landing pages and e-commerce donation forms.
• Experience leading brand and product launches in digital channels along with demonstrated experience developing and executing service solutions and donor/customer retention plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to assemble insights from large amounts of data and effectively communicate insights to all levels of the organization.
• Has experience leading multichannel programs, including measuring channel and campaign performance
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing long term and annual digital marketing and multichannel communication plans
• Understands and speaks technical language needed to work with multiple business and technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of relationships between traditional and digital marketing mediums.
• Solid experience managing user-centered design approach to engage users, such as Scrum or agile
• Ability to coach and motivate to maximize performance
• Ability to effectively communicate goals and business objectives to employees
• Strong and effective decision-making skills, organization and time management skills

Preferred Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Web Development, or a closely related field, Master’s degree a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital marketing or related field
