Robert Half has a superb opportunity for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional at a Retail company. To succeed in this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Hackensack, New Jersey area.

Major responsibilities

• Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

• Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders

• Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans

• Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

• Test documents and codes

• Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks

• Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization

• Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers
