The Safety Codes Council is an independent, self-funded regulatory organization mandated to provide oversight of the system and technical disciplines through a number of key legislated functions and client focused services. We provide leadership by guiding, educating, supporting, and collaborating with all stakeholders in Alberta’s safety codes system.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your instructional design skills to help keep Albertans safe by contributing to the development of high quality educational programming for safety codes officers and safety system participants.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for applying contemporary, evidence-informed learning theories to the design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of eLearning courses, code update training, workshops, webinars, podcasts and video that enables the Council to achieve its goal of providing organizational value to Albertans by building capacity across the safety codes system and, more specifically, by developing in clients and stakeholders the competencies needed to understand and effectively fulfill their responsibilities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a professional with a passion for making a difference. Your experience in working with multiple stakeholders to develop engaging learning experiences is key to success in the role.
You are collaborative and creative with a keen eye for detail, bringing with you excellent knowledge of trends in the field of learning and development, eLearning development tools, assessment and evaluation model, methods and techniques.
Working alongside a talented team, you will be responsible for identifying, creating, and executing action plans to ensure the Council’s educational offerings meet the needs of clients and stakeholders across the safety codes system.
