We are currently seeking applications for an Education Officer based in either Glasgow, Livingston, Dundee or Aberdeen.
The Digital Skills Education Officers will be part of a well-established Digital Skills team who support a range of sectors from early years to senior phase. They will play a significant role both at a regional and national level in supporting Local Authorities and Regional Improvement Collaborative to improve the quality of digital learning and teaching as well as ensuring Local Authorities and schools see the importance of this area as part of the bigger national digital agenda. They will work directly with colleagues in Scottish Governments Learning Directorate Digital Learning and teaching unit to support the implementation of policies areas including technology, devices and infrastructure, people (leadership, teacher, parents and safe guarding), data, content digital transformation, curriculum (skills, digital literacy, computing science). The Digital Skills Education Officers will play a significant role at a national, regional and local level by providing advice, guidance and support, including developing and delivering appropriate professional learning to practitioners, to develop a better understanding of Digital learning and teaching, Digital literacy and Computing Science. This will include delivering online and face to face across all local authorities in Scotland.
This post has a salary range of £49,861 up to £62,167, with the expectation that all new entrants to the Scottish Government would come in on the entry level salary. There are annual increments (eligibility after probation period and thereafter meeting performance criteria) that will allow for salary to incrementally increase up to the maximum amount for that band.

Minimum time in post:
You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade.
In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months.
