Join Waihi’s admin dream team in this varied and busy part-time support role!
Waihi School is an independent day and boarding school located in Winchester, South Canterbury, providing primary education to boys and girls from years 4 to 8. With a proud history, the school has been operating since 1907 and retains the best of traditional values, with a progressive vision for the future. Set in spacious rural grounds with up-to-date facilities, Waihi School prepares confident, accomplished, and well-balanced students for life beyond ‘the hedge’.
They need an organised and efficient Administration Assistant to join the team and take on a range of duties that will contribute to the smooth running of this awesome little school.
Core duties and responsibilities will include:
Our dream candidate is bubbly, outgoing, resourceful, and has initiative in spades. They are also down to earth, and ready to pitch in – this is a small team environment so there is no room for someone to say ‘that’s not my job’ around Waihi!
While this is a school rich in tradition, we are also excited to have fresh eyes and ideas, so don’t forget to pack those in your toolkit. Also required are strong administrative and communication skills – you will be using the Google Suite and working on Apple products. As part of your day-to-day role, you will interact with not only your admin team members, but teachers, students, other non-teaching staff, external parties, and suppliers.
Proposed days and hours of work are 25 hours per week, worked from Monday to Friday during term time, with school holiday hours to be discussed.
In return for bringing your skills and experience to this role, you will become part of a truly special group, the ‘Waihi Family’. This is a collaborative and inclusive workplace where everyone is working together to achieve a common goal: ‘Nurturing Success’ and providing ‘An Education for Life’ for its students. Also, the morning teas and lunches provided by the amazing kitchen staff are worth turning up for!
If this is the role for you, then don’t delay in sending your application to us telling us why we need to meet you. Please provide a CV and cover letter detailing your interest in the role, experience, and relevant skills.
