Job Description:
The Sales and Service Assistant is primarily responsible for providing support to business acquisition and retention activities. In this role, you’ll use your strong communication and problem-solving skills to respond to client and advisor inquiries via phone and e-mail and ensure first call resolution through providing alternative solutions and triaging requests where appropriate.
Reporting to the Service Manager, Business Development, the Sales and Service Assistant will also work closely with Account Executives and Service Specialists to review and interpret plan and policy documents, prepare reports and support with finalist presentations and plan revisions as needed.
What will you do?
Collaborate with Account Executives and Service Specialists to compose and prepare various correspondence and reports, presentations, and plan revisions/renewals, and collaborate with other business areas including Underwriting, Disability, Group Operations, etc.
Coordinate and respond to inquiries and requests for information from Clients, Advisors and Consultants via telephone and email
Data entry – Update and ensure internal reporting and tracking tools are maintained with accurate and up to date information
Order promotional and business supplies and manage incoming and outgoing mail (in office)
Support and facilitate client events
What will you need to succeed?
High School Diploma or higher with 0-2 years of work experience in an office setting, and a demonstrated understanding of Group Benefits products
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills demonstrated through the ability to understand customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard requests
Ability to work well within a fast paced, team environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and organization to successfully manage your own workload and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and skilled in building and managing positive work relationships

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
