Main Purpose of Post

  • Offer confidential, non-judgemental advice and guidance to students on matters that relate to their general welfare.
  • Liaise with Central University departments on significant student welfare cases.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a range of administrative processes and procedural documentation relevant to the role of the team, ensuring that practices and processes are fully compliant with University regulations and procedures at all times and comply with QAA requirements.
  • To contribute to a culture of change and continuous service improvement within the Faculty.
  • To keep fully up to date with rules and regulations and to work with the Management Team to ensure that the relevant student-related policies and procedures are implemented in the Faculty of Science & Engineering.
  • Identify students who evidence low assessment scores and work closely with students and staff to identify issues that can be resolved to enhance student progression through the academic programme.
  • Assist in the promotion of centrally available skills workshops and on-line materials to students.
  • Help to plan and deliver extra-curricular activities for students.
  • Compile accurate records of work are undertaken with individuals and maintained, reporting to the Team Manager on the progress of such cases.
  • Prepare and collate relevant student information to inform College award and progression boards as appropriate.
  • Monitor student extenuating circumstance process.
  • Monitor and respond to correspondence
