This position is part of our specialized Credit Audit team and is responsible for providing assurance over Synchrony’s control environment by assessing risks and executing audit procedures and testing. This role will be focused on providing audit assurance over critical business areas and functions including Consumer Credit Risk, Collection and Fraud Strategies and End User Computing and Non-model Tools. The primary activities for this dynamic role include the execution of audit engagements including the review, testing, analysis, and conclusion over the design and effectiveness of Synchrony’s control environment. This position reports into the Senior Audit Manager – Credit Risk and will support Internal Audit’s on-going assessment of the credit environment and related risks.

E sse nt i a l Re s p o ns i b i l it i e s :
Perform audits of Credit activities including: Credit, Collections, and Fraud Strategies, , and End User Computing and Non-model Tools
Contribute and perform as part of a team on scheduled audits, executing audit projects from start to finish
Support and lead detailed process walkthroughs with management, including the identification of process risks and controls
Document clear audit work papers that succinctly articulate purpose, scope, procedures and conclusions of test work performed
Identify control gaps or control deficiencies and assess the impact to the business
Present audit results to internal audit management, as well as the business organization
Prepare high quality audit deliverables including planning memorandum, audit programs, working papers, drafts of audit issues, and audit reportsfor review and approval by the Senior Audit Manager
Ensure effective and efficient execution of audits in conformance with professional and departmental standards, budgets, and timelines
Leverage data and innovation tools
Maintain high awareness of economic, regulatory, and business risks and issues, taking action to assure required adjustments to risk assessments, audit plans, and audit programs
Develop and maintain effective working relationship with key stakeholders
Maintain internal audit competency through ongoing professional development
Maintain understanding of current and emerging risks within the subject area
Track and validate findings and issues to ensure they are appropriately addressed
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Q u a l i fi ca t i o ns /R e q u ir e m e nt s :
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or equivalent related field
Minimum experience of 2 years in audit, financial services or related field; in lieu of a degree 6+ years of experience in audit, financial services or related field
Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time

Able to work independently on multiple assignments while effectively supporting teamwork and achievement of team objectives
Demonstrated ability to execute analytically driven Audit projects and business issues
Demonstrate verbal and written ability to articulate the business objectives, business risk, processes, and controls
Demonstrate emerging knowledge of Regulatory expectations
Ability to effectively integrate business, operational, compliance, technological, and financial components into audit work performed
Currently holds or is actively pursuing CPA, CIA, or other relevant professional designation/association
Ability to objectively identify problems and recommend solutions to complex control, financial or technical issues
Understands relevant business technologies and their impact to the control environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills
Strong PC Skills – MS Office suite, Visio, SAS, ACL, Python, Jira
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 – 150,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
