OptumRx is looking for a curious and self-motivated leader to build relationships with industry partners and lead a high-performing team. This leader will be responsible for guiding team members engaged in negotiating financial terms that drive down the cost-of-goods-sold and directly deliver value to the clients and members we serve every day.

We are looking for people that can collaborate with business partners, negotiate the best possible outcomes with industry players, and have strong financial acumen. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, the proven ability to work collaboratively to achieve business growth and profitability goals, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information.

Primary Responsibilities:

• 
  Manage strategic relationships with partners across the pharmaceutical industry (manufacturers, providers, etc.)
• 
  Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations with industry partners to deliver on aggressive financial targets
• 
  Evaluate financial results and gather market intelligence to identify opportunities to improve performance across lines of business
• 
  Drive alignment across internal teams on forward-thinking strategies to deliver growth and value to the organization
• 
  Anticipate customer needs, proactively develop solutions to meet them, and forecast the impact of business strategies
• 
  Provide exceptional team leadership with a focus on employee engagement, development, retention, and attracting top talent into the organization.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior customer or external-facing responsibilities, including solid contract negotiation and strategy development experience
• Experience in the Healthcare Industry—retail pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management, or pharmaceutical/life sciences.
• Significant P&L ownership and accountability experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Post-graduate degree in relevant field of study (ex. – MBA, PharmD, MA or MS Finance / Accounting)
• Experience in the Healthcare Industry—retail pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management, or pharmaceutical/life sciences
• Familiarity with US and global pharmacy market dynamics, regulatory environment
• Experience with advanced analytics integration to drive market strategies
