Working within the Customer Experience – Central Services Team, this role is 40 hours a week, worked Tuesday to Saturday. The Librarian – Digital Services will support the promotion and proactive delivery, of innovative digital library programmes, services, and advice for all Library customers. This role also provides training for all Library staff delivering frontline services in Upper Hutt City Libraries. It will require confidence in public speaking for the presentation and promotion of the Library’s digital services and resources to outside groups and at in-house events.
We are seeking someone with a positive proactive approach who has excellent communication skills, strong digital skills, including the use of social media, and a proven ability to deliver excellent customer services across a seven-day operation to enhance the delivery of Best Customer Experience at Upper Hutt City Libraries.
To be successful in this role you will have:
A well-developed understanding of library technology and future trends in libraries
Outstanding relationship skills and a passion for providing quality customer services
A demonstrated ability to use initiative and take responsibility for a task from beginning to end
Proven teamwork skills and the ability to work positively with colleagues
Be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm and friendly manner that will bring credit to themselves and the Council.
A library or equivalent tertiary qualification
A current Driver’s Licence
