Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and driven clinician with a desire to develop our workforce? Are you an experienced band 5 who would like to work in Practice Education and make a positive difference to patient care? We have a fabulous opportunity for you to become part of a newly formed team of Practice Education facilitators at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit seven Practice Education Facilitators to provide education support within our acute, adult inpatient areas including; acute medicine, cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, Older adult, Surgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics.

Using the Trust’s care values, you will focus on delivering the best care to our patients through education and development of our future and current workforce. The majority of this role would be clinical, providing support and mentorship to staff, assisting supervisors and assessors and being highly visible to all. The primary focus of the role is to support the transition of our newly registered international nurses, with the added focus on skills acquisition, clinical competence and quality improvement within all of our adult acute areas. Experience of developing and delivering training packages in a clinical setting would be advantageous. Passion to develop and support others is essential combined with the ability to build relationships rapidly.

It is essential that applicants hold a registered professional qualification, have a wide range of clinical experience supported by excellent evidence based knowledge and skills as well as knowledge of clinical governance and risk management. This post requires the successful applicant to be self-motivated, with excellent organisational and communication skills and evidence of continuing professional development.

Successful applicants will join a buddy system with the other Practice Education Facilitators and will receive support via a Practice Education Facilitator Forum. You will be offered continued professional development support to help you achieve your goals

Working closely with the Senior Practice Education Facilitator and the Faculty of Research and Clinical Education you will support clinical area’s to raise standards and improve quality of patient care through a package of educational support.
