What You’ll Do: The Production Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all shipments and production allocations are coordinated. Acting as the liaison between the Sales & Marketing team, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance and external customers, the Production Administrator ensures that required reporting, documentation and records are maintained to the highest standards.
Who You Are: Our ideal candidate brings 2-4 years of experience in a related administration role (lumber industry experience is an asset). You are a relationship-builder and strong communicator who has a collaborative approach when working with various departments and external customers. You have experience managing and coordinating inventory, resolving shipping issues, and maintaining files and records. You are detail-oriented, organized, and know how to keep your finger on the pulse in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
Work Environment: This role is to be performed in person at our Vancouver office, with all safety protocols in place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
Responsible for lumber inventory flow through manufacturing sites of raw material and finished products;
Managing activities in our inventory system regarding work orders, production runs, codes, inventory uploads, consumption of inventory and mapping products;
Responsible for inventory coordination, resolving shipping issues and troubleshooting with mills and reman centres to ensure the timely and accurate movement of lumber;
Assisting with order file maintenance;
Providing support to ensure shipments are made in a timely manner – submitting time-sensitive Customs documents and creating shipments;
Assist with shipment releases, monitoring shipping with Sawmills, remanufacturing plants and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met;
Daily and month end reconciliations of inventories.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree in business, or related subject;
2 – 4 years of related experience in a related role, preferably in the lumber industry;
An understanding of lumber shipping, lumber calculations and lumber jargon is an asset;
Proficient use of Lumbertrack and Excel considered an asset.
