Job Description
To assist the general public in the operations of the Transfer Station.
Essential Duties
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Conducts on-site inspections of in-coming waste to determine if it is acceptable as permitted by the Site Operating Plan; instructs and advises customers on policies, procedures, and use of the facility.
Operates the computer system that tracks all information relevant to Transfer Station operations; tracks waste by source and categories; generates invoices, weigh tickets, and produces management required reports; operates the scale weighing equipment; collects fees for waste disposed; performs data entry and maintains records as required.
Assists the Building & Grounds maintenance workers in maintaining the grounds; performs general custodial work.
Adheres to safety precautions and regulations related to the operation of equipment; complies with all City and departmental safety rules, policies, and procedures; uses and wears personal protective equipment and clothing, and complies with safe working controls; reports all accidents or injuries to the supervisor immediately; completes reports as required.
Effectively works together to meet the needs of the community and City through superior customer service, commitment and integrity.
Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations; and complies with City of Killeen driving policy accordingly.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a pre-employment physical examination.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
