Summary You will serve as a VOCATIONAL NURSE in the Family Medicine Department of NMRTC CAMP PENDLETON CA. This announcement uses the Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will monitor IV fluid infusions and disconue IV fluids as directed. You will utilize pharmacology of drugs normanclature to include indications or contraindications for use, desired actions, dosages, uses and possible side effects and reactions. You will utilize common medical/sugical disease processes and conditions of specific patient population. You will provide a safe, infection free environment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Speclized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing nursing care of stable to terminally ill patients and performing each designated duty with accuracy and timeliness. Assessing patients and applying nursing processes and principles to enable the participation in the development of planned care. Understanding of physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural factors influencing patient care and well-being. Assisting in patient and family education including explanation of prescribed therapies. Utilizing computerized systems properly. Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
